| His contemporary social portraits and photographs capture the intense energy of the moment. His portraits are displayed in the boardrooms.
Beat Streuli photographs crowds of people on the streets of the world’s metropolises. Apparently unnoticed by him, people pass by his camera. Streuli encapsulates moments when they seem to be lost in thought and unaware of their effect upon others. His photos from New York, Martinique and Bangkok look similar just as the globalised people living in these cities seem to resemble one another in terms of their clothing and mannerisms. Blown up into three-foot high slides, however, Streuli’s photos isolate individuals from an anonymous crowd and preserve their image in museum-like eternity.
